KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

SUMMER TIME!

Well, the summer is here and lots of you are off on your hols! Think of all the outdoorsie things you can do; walking, cycling, riding, jogging, swimming!! Wow, watch the pounds drop off! I have definitely got my sunshine head on and am out and about everyday.... All the classes are still running and will throughout the summer. We are looking to start a new SInfin class on Thursdays so watch this space.....Especially.... MEN, WE ARE TARGETTING YOU!!!

We had two new starters 3 weeks ago, a mum and daughter double act, they have lost over a stone in this short time. They know they ate sweets and crisps and have cut these out as well as increasing their walking. I am very proud of them, they are focused and an inspiration to us all! Keep up the good work ladies.

Rach won't let us open the windows and insists we sweat buckets, if we don't look like we have had a shower after the class she isn't happy!!! WOW!! It doesn't seem attractive, but strangely it is invigorating, the aches are well worth it!! All the ladies laugh when they say which bits hurt the next couple of days after class!!! And as if the plank wasn't hard enough, we can rely on Rach to make it even harder!! I do have to say though that I can see a real improvement in the fitness levels of all the class members and this makes everything worth it!!

This week I made humus with cruditee, sounds posh, I know some ladies thought errrr, but when they tried it they were pleasantly surprised. I used light tahini and extra light mayo, so the calorines were cut by 75% on normal humus and of course I added a splash of lemon to give it some extra zest.......delicious!!

Have a good week, look forward to seeing you at class, Vicki and Rach xxx

SINFIN STARS

Hi Everybody

Another week of classes has passed already, how time flies!! I have managed to keep up my exercise, my heel has been on and off, so I have taken back to the bike! I stayed the same this week, I am a little surprised, but you never can tell what the scales are going to say!!

The important news this week is that the Sinfin class lost an incredible 10lbs between them. Everybody had really tried hard to increase their activity levels and what is so great is everyone encourages each other, there is a real sense of teamwork there.

As promised I have written the recipe for the delicious Chocolate and Banana slice, so I hope you have a go at baking it!!

WELCOME SINFIN !

HELLO TEAM MATES !

We welcomed Sinfin this week, it was fab!! The class all worked really hard in the exercise section and looked a little red at the end!! I managed to do all of the Toton class for the first time at last! I think my heel is on the mend......great!!! I lost an important 2lbs this week, I feel I have turned a corner now, I do actually feel I little bit lighter, it's a good feeling.

I made a lovely fresh tasting and zesty , manderin bread pudding at only 100 calories a ramekin dish, it's a great value treat.

At the first Sinfin class some ladies were quite upset with their measurements, but the good thing is that they have made the hardest step by coming to class and literally faced the music. They all will ,of course, go onwards to success from this point.... so well done, you have been very brave!!

We are going to look at a venue in Mackworth for our next class, so if anybody has contacts, me and Rach would be grateful if you could let us know.

Well enjoy the rest of the week-end, we look forward to seeing you at class in the week.

DON'T DIET YET

HELLO CLASS MATES!!

This week Rach and I were at Toton Greenwood Community Centre for our first week's weigh in. Overall the class lost 5lbs, not bad eh? We talked about what it takes to lose just 1lb and about planning, the class had homework! Mostly the group considered how much water they were drinking per day and I explained about how it helps use the minerals from our food and move it through our systems.....lovely!! Rach put them through their paces again. From the previous week they said they had found tummy and inner thigh muscles.... Rach was pleased cos she knew they must have been doing the right thing!! I made a chocolate and banana slice for a guilt free treat, the class thought it was delicious and asked for the recipe.....maybe they are thinking about making me some, yum yum!

This week I have asked the Toton Class to fill in a food and exercise diary, this is so I can get to know their habits a bit better, they groaned a little and said that there was no escape from me!! All good fun!!

I can't wait to meet the new group at Littleover and Mickleover next week on Tuesday 31st (see 25th May Blog below for full details). It would be great to see you there, have a good Bank Holiday week-end, Best Wishes, Vicki and Rach xx

PARGA - LEMONS

HELLO FRIENDS

Lemoney Things
View of Parga from St Elanor's Church

I have just got back from one of the most magical places in the world! Parga mainland Greece...it is outstanding.. Parga..... where the sun warms your body and the people warm your heart.... Parga...... where the sun melts your ice cream and the people melt your heart!! I have this thing about lemons, they just smell delicious, the lemon blossom is amazing. I have been doing lemoney things since I got back....pickled lemons, lemon drizzle cake, lemon chicken, lemon sponge and finally with my last few; lemon curd!! My friend Johnny from Johnny's Place in the main town area of Parga (a must for a cheap beer if you go there) gave me a squid shaped lemon, which I have pickled for prosperity! I have written a poem called 'The Lemon Fell' maybe I'll publish it another time! Meanwhile here's a photo from my 'lemon' collection! If you enjoy eating fish Stephano's at the top of the Valtos beach steps will be heaven for you. Stephano and his son Michael go out in their boats overnight catching the dish of the day.... you will not be disappointed. If you like walking I love the wander up to a little village called Anthusa, there is a bar there 'Cafe Neon' owned by Nichos and his wife Jo, he smiles constantly and knows everything and everyone, a true fountain of knowledge, I have nicknamed him the 'Oracle' ! I will go back there next year if possible. I will have to race my new 'neighbour' for the studio. It was amazing, last year we had the same person staying to us as this year, we met at the airport conveyor belt in Preveza!! Anyway whereever you are spending your holidays this summer, I hope you have a fab time. Best Wishes for now xxx
